Again though, I don't have much experience with the GoT mod (I'm too into the regular game :)).
Feel free to PM me with any inquiries you may have - it's a tough game to understand, but incredibly rewarding and fun once you get the basics down. I'm happy to answer any questions anybody has, or go more in depth into an explanation. Proper strategy to divvy out your titles is beyond the scope of this mini explanation for sure, but, suffice to say that giving a vassal a title will give a massive boost in their +opinion of you. It's important to not let a vassal accumulate enough titles to challenge your power, however, because they will in a heartbeat. Always keep two (but not more) duchies to yourself, as many counties/baronies as your desmesne will allow, and however many kingdoms you feel like micromanaging the dukes for (if you are an emperor). Hand out titles - Since you are limited by your "desmesne limit", any titles above and beyond that limit SHOULD (but not required to) be granted out to underlings. Honestly, assigning tutors solely for the +rep bonus isn't the best strategy, because you should be assigning tutors for the trait they will pass on to the kid, the +opinion bonus isn't worth losing an opportunity to better groom your family. Why that is, I'm not sure, because I know someone would earn -opinion with me if they try to pass their kid off on me, but, that's the way it is. The amount you need to pay depends on your diplomacy skill and the recipient's rank, and the +opinion benefit you receive depends on your diplomacy skill.Įducate children to people - If you assign someone to tutor a child in your dynasty, it's a +opinion boost to the person you assign the kid to. it's fairly easy to stack 3-4 traits like humble, brave, patient, temperate, etc, and each one of those traits will grant +10 vassal opinion once that heir takes the throne.īribes - Nothing makes people happier than cash money gifts. Get good traits - If you educate your heir yourself, you will get several event pop ups that will allow you to really teach your heir well. More piety = happier vassals, if those vassals are of your same religion. Certain actions like creating kingdoms cost piety (after all, god gets to decide who is fit to lead a monarchy in those days), but other actions like calling and winning holy war, or joining crusades, or paying off the pope if catholic, will give you piety. The more prestige you have, the more your vassals will like and respect you.īe pious - Piety is the other "score", along with prestige.
Certain actions (like creating titles (kingdoms, duchies, empires) give you lots of prestige as well, but other actions will cost you prestige (destroying titles, losing battles, sieges, wars, etc). It's almost like a score total, except, it determines how prestigious your lord and family house are.
Gain prestige - Winning battles, sieges, and wars will get you prestige. Disclaimer - I'm not sure how much of this actually applies to the GoT mod, but I imagine a lot of it does at least. I don't play the GoT mod much, but, I'll elaborate on his list for you as far as the regular game is concerned. » /r/EarthOfIceAndFire - reminding of GOT This is used to define what the post is about, and to what level of discussion is allowable in the comments.įor more info see the guide and policy. » Season 8 Premiere: April 14th » Winds of Winter Release: TBA » Subreddit Twitter » Subreddit Discord Quick Spoiler GuideĮvery post at r/gameofthrones must use a single, spoiler tag at the start of the post.
